Running a Nampa inherited house from another state — Canyon records first
Distance turns ordinary house tasks into a project. Heirs who last visited the Treasure Valley through Boise Airport often pull Ada County pages first. For a Nampa house, that is usually the wrong county. The goal of this page is a checklist you can work through from another city, not a conclusion that you should sell.
Confirm the physical situation on the corridor
- Is the Nampa house vacant, occupied by family, rented, or unknown?
- Can someone you trust confirm locks, obvious leaks, and whether mail is piling up?

Look up the parcel on the Canyon County Assessor page. For recorded documents, use the Canyon County Recorder. Nampa is not the county seat; you still use those Canyon offices. Ada County assessor and recorder tools do not cover a Nampa lot. City pages at City of Nampa do not replace the recorder.
If you do not know who can sign, read Canyon County papers, not Boise metro habits. Being an heir who lives elsewhere does not, by itself, make you the signer, and a Boise zip code does not move the file into Ada County.
